Weight Loss is a Lifestyle

The fad diets and hundreds of people telling you how to lose weight cannot help you with your weight loss goals. It is importanthat keep in mind that meaningful, permanant weight loss is only possible by way of healthy lifestyle modification. This means that no matter the diet you pursue, you have to adjust your habits and way of life.

This doesn't mean that you can't use a particular popular diet as a springboard into achieving your weight goals. It simply means that you must also permanently adjust the way you're living.

So keep it up! Work hard and enjoy your triumphs. Good luck!

Dieters, Good Luck this Holiday Season!

Hello dieters,

I don't post much any more, but for those who happen upon the blog and are working hard to lose weight, I wanted to wish you the very best!

It can be difficult to maintain a diet while family and friends are eating and drinking yummy or otherwise appealing things, but it is in your best interest to show restraint and maintain your efforts at dieting. Keep your eye on the prize and push yourself to continuously stay on top of diet and exercise goals.

So Much To Learn

The HCG diet has become incredibly popular, and is one of the commonly discussed ways to lose weight. With so many people starting the program, the questions I receive on how to do the program are increasing. Most of the questions are centered around the second phase, burning. Specifically, many people are often confused by what is allowed and what is not.

A Year To Diet and Plan

Happy New Year!

Best wishes to you and your loved ones as you start your new year! As you look forward to this new year and begin making plans for the future, try not to overwhelm yourself with a thousand tiny details regarding things you wish to change or improve. Instead, decide on a handful of goals that will help you become whatever you are working towards.

Small, measured steps are the way to successfully achieve your big goals and plans.

Best of luck to you.

Happy Holidays

We wish you all happy holidays. At this time of year it is good to reflect on your your triumphs and also determine specific goals for how you can improve yourself over the coming year.

The Meal Plan

Thanksgiving was glorious! Turkey, stuffing, ham, potatoes, candied yams and more! I hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and let yourselves enjoy some of the foods that come with the holiday. I am going to start jogging to prepare myself for the Christmas meals on the horizon. REMEMBER don't punish yourself this time of year -- JUST pace yourself and set clear limits! It makes things more enjoyable, and when you do it right you don't have to feel guilty.

Successful Dieters Deal with Holiday Food

My favorite time of the year -- November! It is almost time for the holidays and everything that comes with it: family, friends, gifts and FOOD. The food situation can be a little tricky so, like I mentioned in my previous post, I recommend that you begin to prepare yourself NOW by deciding how you will respond to all of the delicious temptations around the corner.

Here are a couple of tips to dealing with all those temptations.

Pace Yourself

We are well into October now and the holidays are visible on the horizon. With the holidays comes the food (read: feasts), and generally some weight gain.

I find that the best way to deal with the "food situation" that we have coming up isn't to avoid the food, but to set limits on what you can consume. Defining a clear (set of) rule for what can be eaten and when has done a lot to help me manage all of the food choices.

Are there any other ideas for how to best deal with the great amount of food that we have coming up?

Thatcher's hCG Diet - Finished Diet

I've completed the diet! Sorry for my absence -- I had some issues come up that I needed to deal with.

Anyway, I finished on Wednesday and I was down 28 lbs! I am very happy with the results! I am in the maintenance phase now and I have managed to keep it all off. The scale even says that I've lost another half-pound. I have made the decision to change my lifestyle with regards to eating. I wake up early in the morning and go running before work -- which is really hard because I am only able to run a little before being out of breath, but I know it will get easier as I keep with it.

Thatcher's Diet

Thatcher has run into some personal issues and will be unable to post for a couple of days. Stay tuned to see how he finishes!
